About this knot
The Lark's Head knot is a common knot used to start wall hangings from a dowel or similar piece of ‘driftwood.’ The knot creates a row of hanging cords for you to begin your piece.
How to tie this knot
To tie a lark’s head knot, find the position on the cord you wish to create the knot (usually the middle), pass this ‘middle’ over the top of your dowel and bring back to the front underneath the dowel to make a loop.
Pass the 2 cords through the loop
and pull tight.
